This weekend I had an opportunity to head up to the family cottage, which was wonderfully restorative.
1. Yoga in the sand is amazing. The fluidity factor is pumped way up, as you go through the poses, you seem to naturally lock into place with such grace. The sand provides support while in balance poses making it easier to hold the pose for longer.
2. Folks in the U.P. don’t know what to do about a lady doing yoga in a bathing suit on the beach. I swear I saw a mother cover her young son’s eyes.
I didn’t get up to the cottage last year, so being there again meant the world to me. Swimming in da lake (first time this year!), bonfires, pasties, Breezy Point, and making love to the sun with a good book and comfy chair. Ah, Escanaba. Bless your northwoods heart.
